nothing special - wilt
Making nothing special, into something unique
wilt is a brand new band that has been making waves in the music scene with their unique sound and style. They have only been around since July of last year, but they have already connected with a huge audience, garnering nearly 50,000 listeners on Spotify with just two singles under their belt. Their first single, 'gwen', was released in November of last year and was a statement to the kind of guitar-driven sound that the band wanted to bring to music. They drew inspiration from the grunge sounds of the 90s and produced the track in the guitarist's home studio.
The band's approach to music is self-produced, self-written, and even the artwork is taken by themselves. From this, an audience came in thousands, and for their second record, they were already 5 steps ahead of where they'd planned to be. So, the pressure was on to put out a record that matched the energy they got from the first one. Luckily, they matched it, and for many, went even one step further. There is even more depth in production here, the drums sound heavy, but slightly held back at the end of the verse. The atmosphere is still soaked in that grunge attitude that comes from a lead singer who is a student of the rock scene and wanting to build their own sound in amongst today's world of rock music.
Their latest release, "nothing special" is the second single from the band that dropped last Friday. ‘gwen’ was a track about someone with untapped potential, and they seem to have found their potential on this second one. This is your chance to be here early as they continue to bring out music throughout the year.
