Fever Dreamer - SG Lewis, Charlotte Day Wilson, Channel Tres
Fever Dreamer marks the contrast of AudioLust and HigherLove.
Today's One of One is a brand new track from SG Lewis, titled "Fever Dreamer". This artist has had it figured out since day one. Back in 2018, he was putting together a project called Dusk, with the overall intention to have three EPs: Dusk, Dark & Dawn. They eventually got released back to back over a span of two years. And what this project showed the world was how this DJ from Reading was able to produce music that matched the energy of a whole night, from the music you listen to when you're getting ready to go out, to the music you listen to at 2am at the club, and the music you finish the night on as the sun rises into the next day. By the end of that Dawn project, he was a well-known name.
Today, SG Lewis is able to take all those elements of those three EPs and feed them into one song. "Fever Dreamer" feels like it was made for the club, it has the drone of an intro ready to be mixed on. But collaborating with Charlotte Day Wilson offers a Dua Lipa disco energy that keeps the track light enough to dance on at the beginning of the night. That is however until Channel Tres steps onto the track, bringing a contrast to the song that makes the beat feel like it's bouncing off the walls, and a total hypnotic bass to get lost in. It feels like I could play this on my phone at the beach, or mix it when DJing in the club, either way, it works.
This track is the final one to be released from SG Lewis's sophomore album, dropping in two weeks. The album is titled AudioLust & HigherLove, one side being the darker, short-lived, more ego-driven version of lust, the other being the deeper, fulfilled version of love. That track there totally matching that contrast, the night & day between Charlotte Day Wilson & Channel Tres.
