2022 Review: Little Simz NO THANK YOU - My Album of the Year.

Little Simz is an artist that I've been a fan of for a while, and her latest album, "NO THANK YOU," which was released on December 12th of this month, is my album of the year for all the reasons I stated in the episode two weeks ago. The flow, the production, and the mastery of her craft are all top-notch on this album, but it's also the way it connects with me as a fan.

It's crazy to think that Little Simz only just won awards for Best New Artist this year, because she's been consistently delivering high-quality music for a while now. She approaches this latest album with the confidence and ease of someone who already has nothing left to prove, and it's clear that her first priority is the artistry before the industry. That's at least part of the reason why this album connects with me more than others this year, but honestly, quite simply, I also just really enjoy the music.

The track "Angel," which is the One of One today, is a perfect summary of what I just said. The beat is relaxed and comfortable, and the vocals from Cleo Sol on the chorus are heavenly. It's a track that really captures the feeling of the album for me, and it's just a joy to listen to.
